Affiliate Disclosure
Seaway Forge intends to make money through affiliate commissions. This page says plainly what that means, what it does and does not change about the writing, and exactly where things stand right now.
Current status, 21 July 2026: there are no affiliate links on this site. Not one. Every outbound link here is a plain link to a vendor's own page with no tracking, no referral code, and no commission attached. Seaway Forge has no active affiliate agreements with any company mentioned on this site and has not been paid by any of them.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link is a link that carries a code identifying the site that sent you. If you click one and then buy or sign up for a subscription, the company pays the site a referral commission. You pay the same price you would have paid anyway; the commission comes out of the company's marketing budget, not your pocket.
This is the ordinary business model for software review sites. It is legal, it is common, and it is also the reason so much of that writing is untrustworthy — a site earning a commission has an obvious reason to recommend the product that pays best. Which is why the rest of this page exists.
What happens when that changes
When Seaway Forge does enter affiliate agreements, this page will be updated on the same day, and it will name the programs. Any article containing affiliate links will carry a disclosure at the top of the page, above the point where you would have to scroll — not buried in a footer. That is the standard the United States Federal Trade Commission's endorsement guidance sets, and it is the standard this site holds itself to.
What a commission does not buy
- It does not buy coverage. Which products get written about is decided before any commercial relationship is considered, based on what small home-service businesses are actually shopping for.
- It does not buy a verdict. If a product that pays a commission is a bad fit for a one-truck operation, the article will say so. Several articles on this site already tell readers to skip an entire category.
- It does not buy placement or ordering. Nothing on this site is ranked by payout, and no vendor can pay to appear, to appear higher, or to have a competitor removed.
- It does not buy a preview. No company sees an article before it publishes, and no company gets approval over the wording.
How to check us on this
Hover any outbound link on this site and read the address. If it goes straight to the vendor's own domain with nothing after it, it is not an affiliate link. When affiliate links do appear, they will typically route through a network's tracking domain, and the disclosure on that article will say so.
Prices
Every price on this site is quoted from the vendor's own pricing page, with the URL and the date we retrieved it listed in each article's Sources section. Software vendors change prices frequently, so treat the check date as part of the figure. If a number has moved, tell us and it gets fixed.
Not professional advice
Nothing here is accounting, tax, or legal advice. Software that handles your invoicing and payment processing affects your books and, depending on where you work, your obligations. Talk to your own accountant before making a change on the strength of anything you read here.
