Privacy Policy
Seaway Forge collects almost nothing about you. This page describes what little there is, in plain language, without the twelve paragraphs of boilerplate that usually stand in for an answer.
The short version
- There are no accounts on this site. You cannot create one.
- There is no newsletter and no email capture anywhere.
- There is no contact form. Reaching us means sending an email from your own account.
- This site sets no cookies of its own.
- There is no advertising, no ad network, and no advertising tracker.
- Nothing about you is sold, rented, or shared for marketing.
What is collected
Hosting logs
This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical information your browser sends when it requests a page — your IP address, the page requested, the time, your browser's user-agent string — in order to serve the page and to protect the site from abuse. This is standard server operation and happens on every website you visit. Cloudflare handles that data under its own privacy terms, and Seaway Forge does not build profiles from it.
Page analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It is a privacy-preserving,
cookieless analytics service: it does not set cookies, does not use
localStorage, does not fingerprint your device, and does not track you
across other websites. What it reports back to us is aggregate — how many people
read a given article, roughly where in the world they were, and which site sent
them. There is no way for us to identify an individual reader from it, and we do not
try.
Because no cookies are set and no personal profile is built, this site does not show a cookie consent banner. There is nothing to consent to.
Email you send us
If you email the address on the contact page, we obviously have your email and whatever you wrote in it, because that is how email works. It sits in a normal mailbox, it is used to answer you and to make corrections you report, and it is not added to any marketing list — there is no marketing list.
Links to other sites
Articles link out to software vendors' own websites. Once you click through, you are on their property and their privacy policy applies, not this one. Those companies will generally know you arrived from here, the same way any referring site is visible. If and when this site carries affiliate links, clicking one may set a cookie belonging to that company or its affiliate network in order to credit the referral — see the affiliate disclosure, which also records that as of 21 July 2026 there are no affiliate links on this site at all.
Children
This site is written for people running small businesses. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live — the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area, California and several other United States jurisdictions among them — you have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data a site holds about you. In practice Seaway Forge holds no personal data about readers beyond email you chose to send us, so a request usually amounts to "delete my email." Ask, at the address on the contact page, and it will be done.
Changes to this policy
If what this site collects changes — a different analytics tool, or affiliate links going live — this page gets updated and the "last updated" date at the top changes with it. Material changes will not be made quietly.
